Decoupage is an applied art. This technique of decorating objects was invented by Chinese peasants in the 12th century. They began to decorate various objects of their lives. For the first time, the technique decoupage was mentioned as art technique at the end of the 15th century in Germany, where they began to use cut out pictures for decoration of furniture. Decorating in the XVII century in Venice became particularly popular. In France it was very modern in the courtyard of Ludwig XVIa, and in England decoupage became widely popular during the Victorian era when printed sheets of printed cuttings were available to everyone. Decoupage entered almost every home. In the middle of the 19th century decoupage became particularly popular. Images of flowers, pastoral scenes, animals, angels and more were used for decoration of objects and furniture. From England the decoupage has been conveyed to America as a hobby. Nowadays this antique technique is again modern and is often used in the design of handbags, hats, trays, Christmas tree decorations, sunglasses, containers, It is also used to design extravagant items from the interior of the home, clothing and accessories.
Decoupage became my hobby in 2010. It happened by chance. A collegue made a brief announcement to this art in front of me and promised to "englighten" me someday. I was not waiting and I started collecting information. For four years I was constantly studying and I did not exclude the "trial- error" method. I was involved in Russian webbins and courses on the subject, i have followed the master classes of Italian, Portuguese, Russian and American masters, i was creating my technique, introducing myself and finally I started to apply other decorative techniques such as pepper art / decoration with twisted, wrinkled napkins previously used by our guests / creating relief from aluminum foil / decorating with eggs , cold porcelain etc. I was combining techniques.I received beautiful objects that have brought and still bring me enjoyment and side income.
